during the cache update we show the repository names now.

Of course, this is just a wishlist item and not particularly important.
I'd say there are far more important things to work on (eg making unity
launcher work properly with Java apps or integrating all the missing
settings into the systems settings dialog in Oneiric).

Yes, indeed. The latest update-manager in Natty only shows that it is
downloading something, not from where.

update-manager 1:0.126.2 now shows the file download location, which is
great. Is this perhaps because it switched back from using apt-daemon?
