this is still a great annoyance. it is combined with a not working alsaplayer (but rhythmbox works!) the crackling sound lasts for several second (2 - 20). very annoying if using the laptop in a meeting! (cannot be switched off, except by pluging in a headphone). please help! andrew -- sound pr
