This issue has not been fixed (or at least distributed). Problem
reconfirmed on clean install with release version 9.10. "Xorg
-configure" fails to launch, since terminal is running, so a default
xorg.config can not be created and edited. Any manual work arounds or
test fixes would be appreciate

Running 9.10 beta on HP DC7600 Desktop. External Monitor is HP 1740.
All versions fail to detect proper resolution of monitors supporting
higher than 1024x768. Native is 1280x1024. 9.40 will run in 1024x768.
