Evan,
I iso-tested the RC candidate yesterday, live session and four
installation scenarios, and I have not been able to reproduce this bug.
Specifically I've booted pressing a key to enter the full "options" menu
w/o this error, and also just sat and watched until offered the option
to either "i

i hit install ubuntu
it took a long time to load and then i had the crash report from within gnome.

I can verify that this is resolved in the final release.
I tried several different methods of installation (choosing both install
or try without) and all worked properly!
This should be marked "fix confirmed"!
Sorry it took so long for me to test this but Ubuntuzilla needed some

seemingly because the X server fails to start, whereas yours seems to be

Bug #452725 is a duplicate of this one. That one recreated this bug
with the latest Ubiquity (2.0) and Kernel by using the 15 Oct 2009 daily
.iso image burned to USB. Machine installed fine with beta disk a few
weeks ago.
