This seems to be a known bug in kpackage: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=193650 As a quick workaround I would suggest installing jre separately from terminal with your preferred installer. I would then try clicking "File → Fixup " in kpackage. ** Bug watch added: KDE Bug Tracking System #19
