Absolutely same here, gdebi fails to install any package (while its
dependencies are installed normally), but using dpkg -i installation
succeeds.

gdebi-gtk says:
dpkg: unable to read filedescriptor flags for : Bad file descriptor
Same when executed from firefox, nautilus or terminal.
Nevertheless, I still can istall package with sudo dpkg -i
packagename.deb
