Since "ubuntu" packages it, YOU(ubuntu) guys should raise the issue with the
Evolution people.
I cannot figure out a simple way to diable the [EMAIL PROTECTED]
process from running at startup.
A) It should be available to those who need it
B) It should NOT be enabled and running by defau
I completely agree. The current setup makes it impossible to fully
remove evolution, even if you have no need for it. I understand why the
component is there, but there should be an option to remove it if you
won't use the feature.

The matter of the daemon should be taken up with the Evolution
developers upstream. Perhaps it could be fixed to only run this daemon
if required.
This functionality should be available to those who need it, out of the
box.

No it should since we nobody decided yet that would be something to do.
GNOME doesn't start it, evolution does, and you should better ask that
question to the people working on that software than to the people
packaging it

This should have status confirmed. And why do gnome starts something
users don't need and why is this not in startup options for Gnome?
