With feisty I can drag & drop pictures into Impress with no crashes at
all, so I guess it's fixed.

With 2.0.4-0ubuntu2 from edgy I can't reproduce the crash.
...of course, that may just be because I now can't drag & drop pictures
into Impress from nautilus or konqueror at all.

proposed; I'm not able to reproduce this anymore.
maybe a dapper only (2.0.2) problem

I have the same issue, when dealing with linked images. It seems the
Slide sidebar takes 100% cpu when recreating the slide thumbnails, and
soon after the whole OOo Impress crashes.
I was able to open the document once and disabling the Slides sidebar
and got no crashes while working on the presen
