7.2.0.git.20070224-0ubuntu3 in Feisty) even if your keymap is non-US.

This sounds like a dup of bug 47682 (although to be fair this was filed
first so I think that bug should be dup'd on this one and this one
resolved).

A quick fix: If you have an unaltered US keyboard, go to
System->Preferences->Sessions->Startup Programs and add the following
entry:
xmodmap /usr/share/xmodmap/xmodmap.us
This seems to fix the problem, though I'm not sure why.
