Do you get this error every time you want to install a package? Which
package do you want to install? Does the installation of the given
package require the removal of conflicting packages?

I am having other troubles with Karmic right now, where I can only use
one window at a time and have a difficult time switching.
Unfortunately, I can't check Synaptic Manager to get you the version of
software-store while I have Firefox up with the messages on the bug.
