Thanks for doing that, Abi. I didn't realize we could! :)
With regards to leaving notes in the .pot file, I filed a feature request and a
patch upstream:

Oh, with regards to your query, the link should be kept intact.
(Although, if there's an official Ubuntu web site that has the same page
translated to the appropriate language, that would be fine). The reason
for that is because this particular community page
(ubuntu.com/community) has a real wealt

The current localization infrastructure makes it impossible to add
comments, unfortunately. If someone can figure that one out (we're using
html2po from translate-toolkit) I would be absolutely happy to comment
everything!
In the mean time, is there a good place I can put translation related
