This is partly fixed now by simply displaying the package name after the appname, so it will be: GDebi package installer (gdebi) GDebi package installer (gdebi-kde) now. Not perfect, but better than just showing idential ones. ** Changed in: software-center Status: New => Fix Committed *

SMplayer also is listed twice, because it installs 2 mimetype handlers and 2 .desktop in the system: one for the program itself and one for adding the file to the queque.
