For the code itself, it looks OK to me. XML via libxml, HTTP via libsoup. I didn't see any glaringly bad code (actually the code looked nice and well-documented). The debian packaging looks nice and simple. Has an active maintainership in debian and upstream (though, it's a pretty young library

I haven't finished looking at the code itself yet, but I will note two things. One, Ubuntu still doesn't have a bug subscriber for this. Two, upstream actually does have an automated test suite (gdata/tests) that isn't being run, but should be. As a bonus, it currently fails. I've filed a debian
