When I update to latest kamaric today, sounds comes back. Nice to have
it again.

I can not see mixer controls "Master" and "PCM" on the Sound Preferences
dialog. Check with the attachment.

do you ever get any sound? (from the login prompt?)i have an issue
where any media player will play if i start them right after i log in,
but once playback stops, they can no longer play audio, and if i wait
too long after starting the system audio won't work at all.
