This icon was never meant to make it into the release. It was never
approved and never preferred.
Ken Wimer is working on reverting to the previous icon.

Could someone check out the ethernet icon in Humanity , We have done an
icon which addresses this issue.
If need be, we could make one to match Human icon theme too.

Agreed, I thought the icon we have at the moment was a black ghost with
six eyes from pac-man, and it was only when I got a notification from NM
showing the whole image that I realised it wasn't ...
