This bug is fixed
The Installed Software view now only shows the software that is
installed.
The Get Free Software will show both, as this is what it is meant to do,
however they will be marked with a green tick

Affects me too. When I select Installed Software show those and also,
available software, wich makes this part of the application unusable.
However, when I see the list of the Installed software, a green tick is
showed on which is already installed.
Why they aren't filtered if the application alr
I think the problem is the packages are being matched to the .desktop
files by the name rather than package name. Therefore many packages can
have the same name (ie. gpicview & eog) so it shows the application but
then when it applies the installed_only filter it gets confused as it
isn't meant to
Yeah software that is not installed, as well as software that isn't in
the repositories, is showing up in the Installed Software filter. Here's
some examples:
Not installed but in repositories: terminal.app, xubuntu-default-settings,
gnome-chess
Not installed and not in repositories: Babytrans, U
It seems like the installed_only filter is sometimes misbehaving.
