I had to resort to installing kernel 2.6.18 to allow ndiswrapper to
work.
Doing this also fixed my laptop battery meter (Acer Ferrari 4005
laptop).

The bcm43xx kernel driver has "unstable" support for the 4318 chipset
right now. Have you tried installing a newer version of ndiswrapper,
making sure to unload the bcm43xx kernel module first?

Ndiswrapper does not work with Broadcom 4320 chipset. Can not enable
radio after updateing to Dapper 6.06 from Brezzy 5.10. Also system
assigns device 'eth2' to the wifi pci card instead of 'wlan0' when I was
using 5.10.
