No, the problem seems to be fixed in Geeqie.

Can you test whether this problem still occurs with Qeeqie? The geeqie package
is already available next to the gqview package in Karmic.

I upgraded to Karmic yesterday and can comfirm this bug (also amd64).
This is a workaround, that temporarily solves the problem for me: Open
nautiuls and right click on a jpg-file. Choose "Open with" and select
the last entry "Other application". Then at the bottom you can set a
user-defined appli
