upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release. As a result, the kernel team would

I'll check it out over the weekend, but none of the succeeding kernel
updates have worked for me, they have all had the same problem when
rebooting on my G4.

Looks like bug #34508 for which a fix is commited to the kernel. Please
try a dist-upgrade from breezy when the next kernel update has been
released.
