Public bug reported: This problem occured when I upgraded my ubuntu 8.10 machine for the latest version. Everything went find with the upgrade. I just wanted to see what are the new changes for visual appearance for desktop (enchanced) so it asked me for 'searching for nvidia drivers' which it freezed for sometimes but the system was working fine, so the 'searching for drivers' application restarted itself from background and it started to work now and its showing the progress of search for drivers. (this way it got fixed)
