external player).

Additional information: I have created a test (not system) user, logged
in with this new user from console, started X (via startx) - Logout
works at this case.

I guess all these operations demands to be a system user.
At my case the issue is absolutely persistent.

I've experienced similar behavior twice on two different Kubuntu Karmic
Alpha 3 installations (one upgraded and one clean installation). I
cannot identify what goes wrong, some application may be closed but the
logout procedure is stopped and you can continue using the desktop.
Trying logout again
