Can you reproduce this bug in Ubuntu 9.10 or 10.04 beta?
I was able to use 2 3G devices in Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic Koala) - a Sony Ericsson
C902 phone and a ZTE MF626 HSDPA modem.
I was able to invoke the NM 3G connection wizard fo every new device without a
problem.
Please test the latest developmen
