No problem...
If the goal is see whether or not wireless works on the HP Minis (
Harbour & Bixby ), then we should check whether or not the expected
Hardware Drivers mechanism works. If it doesn't, then we want to report
a bug and make sure it gets fixed.

Understood, I marked it Invalid for Dennis, as it really has nothing to
do with that project, and cannot be *fixed* for that project ( ie. it
already works ).
You didn't answer my question though... did you use Hardware Drivers to
enable wireless, or did you have to manually install the driver?
Hey Tony
This is on Karmic not Jaunty...The fix provided does work in Karmic
though

One question, did you try "Hardware Drivers" to see whether or not the
Broadcom STA driver is offered as an option?
This worked for me in Jaunty with my new Macbook which also includes the
BCM 4312.

Then I'll be closing this bug now since broadcom wireless drivers are
now managed by the 'bcmwl-kernel-source' dkms packge and not by
linux-restricted-modules which have been deprecated.
You can read up the full reasoning here:
https://lists.ubuntu.com
Installing "bcmwl-kernel-source' does fix this issue and wireless is
then available.
