Doh, missed the comment for a long long time.
I've check /var/log/messages, dmesg, kern.log, but it didn't contain any
related information. messages is empty except for "Aug 17 02:11:13

Care to capture and attach your dmesg output after this happens? I'm
just curious if anything interesting gets logged. Might be good to also
attach the output of 'sudo lspci -vnvn' just to capture hw info. Also,
how much testing would you be able to do on this system? The reason I
