Confirmed on Lucid final:

I'm using Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic Koala) with all updates applied and I
can confirm that I get exactly the same error as Blax above.
Unlike Phil M, I am unable to rebuild the package from source, for me
this results in:

And I can confirm that a simple package rebuild on my Intrepid system
eliminates this error. This should be a quick point for some MOTU to
rack up.

And, 6 months later, it has still not been rebuilt and uploaded to
intrepid-updates.
To be clear, I just installed ggcov today and got the same error:

libbfd-2.18.so seems to work.
