I tried something similar last night, commenting out that line does make
the installer start. Then later it fails and in the debug information I
found it complaining that /target/home didn't exist. As it was 3am at
the time I stopped digging. Regardless your patch should do the trick
for this one.
I can't confirm it because I haven't the las version to test it, but
from the 'Traceback.txt' I can see the problem is there is not any
'ubiquity.emap' module.
This module seems to be removed at revision 3286 (on merge from
lp:~cjwatson/ubiquity/remove-tzmap). The thing is the module is been
still
