changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem
may have been fixed
An additional workaround to this problem is to run killall kwalletd,
then close the programs requiring the password (e.g. NetworkManager) and
restart them. Kwallet will then restart and allow you to enter the
password without you having to log out.

I think this problem is actually Kwallet, not plasma-widget-network-
manager. I don't use NetworkManager at all, but use Kwallet to store my
passwords for Kopete, Kmail etc. and experience the same "timeout" if I
don't unlock my wallet immediately after login, and can only use the
applications by l

with Kubuntu Jaunty as well to the current version from ubuntu-proposed.
