It looks like the karmic koala kernel fixes the issue for me. I've been
working all day without single disconnection or other wifi issue. There
is also nothing in the logs.

I have a follow-up. I have managed to work around this thing and have reliable
wlan connection on my ThinkPad X300.
I have noticed that pinging some local address cures the problem. It also never
occurs during transfers (I can transfer few GB without single drop, but just

I'm having this issue too.
I did a reinstall of jaunty, to change from i386 to amd64. The amd64
iwlagn driver was corrupting my ext3 filesystems until I installed the
backports modules. Now I have this issue.
