This is not a duplicate of the 'cannot connect to yahoo' bug.
As you can see, my pidgin just happens to crash on connecting to yahoo.
The bug that you say mine is a duplicate of, does not crash pidgin.

Workaround.
I was able to fix this. I removed the yahoo account, then added the
account again. That did the trick.
I tried to see if there was a difference in the accounts.xml. But even
if i restore the original 'yahoo' account from the older accounts.xml
