I have the same problem, using an external LCD monitor with Ubuntu 9.04
OS: Ubuntu 9.04
System: HP/Compaq nw8440
Monitor: HP LP2065
It *appears* to happen most often on browser pages (Firefox or Chrome)
that dynamically update. So, not at all for static pages, but it goes
nuts (sometimes blacking
After upgrading from Jaunty to Karmic (with the latest updates) I have
the same problem. But only while playing youtube or other Flash videos.
Every couple of minutes the entire screen goes blank for a second but
sound is still playing.
I've tested it with Firefox 3.5.3 and Midori 0.1.9 with Flash
