Deffinately a 'paper cut'. One of the 'I clicked on it, but nothing's
happening' stories. The moment I have to say Alt+Tab, it's too late.
P.S. I think it's Gnome, 'cause it happens also when opening a file in
the browser. E.g. torrent file in Epiphany, Deluge just waits for user
imput while I user

maybe adding an option to the taskmanager list to let minimized windows
on the bottom, could be enough and quick.
so, this way, if you like it, you can enable this.
new users will not suffer from that issue.
i think, now it can be considered as a papercut.

I really prefer this behavior, but see how it could be a problem. What
other solutions are there? Popping up a balloon is possible, but I'm not
sure I like that. Another option is flashing the task bar button, but
that may not be enough.

When we start an application like Open Office or Evince when we double-click
on a file in nautilus, if the aplication is already launched, satys on bottom
and doesn't shows the user if it has been opened.
Maybe bringing the app to the from would help when opening appl
Someone needs to figure out if this is caused by compiz, metacity, etc
or the apps themselves. Can you see if this is still the case if you
disable Visual Effects?
