I can confirm this on a pidgin-pidgin basis. I can't see a Windows user
who can see me. The authorization can hardly be the problem. It works
smoothly with others using Miranda, the original ICQ client, Kopete and
so on :(.

It seems to be a problem of empathy. Users who are using the original
icq-client can see me. I will post a new bug report against empathy.

I've tested it with a second PC and another ICQ account (Ubuntu 9.04,
Empathy as ICQ-Client). I've added the account in question, but it
stayed invisible. Like my buddys reported messaging is possible, avatar
is visible. Just the status isn't shown correctly.
