Done. I've also dropped the patch system that Ubuntu added. After
talking with Colin Watson, apparently the preferred thing to do is just
apply patches directly if the Debian packaging has no stated patch
system.

Hey Michael,
Good work on reducing the delta, however I would still leave out the unused
gentoo patch since it's confusing to have it in patches/ while it is unused.
Forwarding that delta to Debian would make sense (if not already done).

I aggressively tried to reduce the Debian delta in this merge. There
were several seemingly unnecessary changes to the packaging that I
dropped:
* 01_fix_driverpath.dpatch: Debian applied same change inline
* debian/lcdproc.LCDd.init: Commenters in bug 63488 say that both '1' and
'true' work. T
