Confirmed. Also reassigning to xserver-xorg-video-intel package. Rolling
that back to 2.7.1 avoids the problem.
Like Rodney, I also have Intel 915 graphics hardware.

Definitely an xorg issue. It happens whenever anything tries to go full-
screen. I've tested with firefox, eog, and mplayer outputting to SDL.
