Sorry, I didn't notice this outstanding merge request when I grabbed the
merge directly (on behalf of Matthias). As Martin noted, the gcc 4.3
change was no longer needed, because upstream fixed it a different way;
so the change has been dropped in the upload.

Did you check whether the g++-4.3 FTBFS still applies to the Debian
package? Debian has used 4.3 for a long time as well, after all, so I
wonder why it works there and not for us?
