I have not tried any in-place upgrades recently, since all such previous
attempts resulted in either losses or severely annoying journeys through
the land of dmcrypt.
Having said that, problems that I had were fixed with font-cache
rebuilding, using the -f option to force rebuilds.

The primary sources were (original media) Adobe Font Folio and ITC.
There is a mixture of OpenType, TrueType and PostScript (primarily type
2, if from my collection)

But in Open Office, I am proposed only "century schoolbook l", so I can not
reproduce.
Do you know what is the type of your font (Open Type, True Type, ...)

The fonts do not show up in xlsfonts that I can see, but in the
screenshot, you can see that they appear in the font dialog -- and i
must repeat: they worked just fine before the upgrade to jaunty.

Use "xlsfonts" to list all available fonts on your system (this command access
directly to X11).
Then use "xfd -fn lucidasanstypewriter-bold-12" to display the font.
So you can get the name of fonts which do not display.
If the font with it you had problem display well, the problem does not affect
I was attempting to demonstrate the bug, and show the font involved. It
is not exclusive to mozilla, it just happened to be a representative.
Another example would be the font-picker in most gnome applications --
it will list all fonts, but only some will show in the preview.
