If you have more than one weather applet, say one for Washington (D.C.)
and one for Moscow (Russia), I think it would be unintuitive to default
the Washington temperature to Fahrenheit and the the Moscow temperature
to Centigrade. The default settings should be picked up from the locale
- as Bill N

yes. when there is no location set, the applet now shows '0F'. but once
you specify a location (in this case, Glen Burnie), the units are once
again in centigrade (right now it says 24C). repeat the steps as above
and it happens every time.

Do you still have this problem? I use the same locale as you and trying
the location you specified doesn't yield any errors as described.
