The vboxmouse driver wasn't in xorg.conf. Running that script adds the
driver and solves the problem, thanks.
It would be good if the VirtualBox mouse driver was automatically enabled.
Mouse integration worked without manually modifying the xorg.conf in previous
versions of Ubuntu, so I regard th

The VirtualBox mouse driver isn't automatically enabled.
Does your /etc/X11/xorg.conf contain the line: Driver "vboxmouse" ?
You can call /usr/share/virtualbox/x11config.pl to add the necessary
config options.
