I have also experienced this problem. I installed Ubuntu 9.04 from new
on a fresh hard drive and then added Thunderbird, by copying in my
profile from another PC. My installation details are as follows:
thunderbird:
Installed: 2.0.0.22+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.9.04.1
Candidate: 2.0.0.22+bui
for version info for lightning and thunbird please pist the output of the
following command:
apt-cache policy thunderbird lightning
Type it exactly as i did

what else did you install at the same time can you please list all the
lightning/sunbird packages are also installed?
Can you please test this with new profile?
Do you have google-provider installed? i cant recall exact name of it.
Was this a fresh install or an upgrade for lightning and for Ubunt
