No, Assistive Technologies is disabled. I have tried disabling compiz,
but the behaviour didn't change. The problem has disappeared though
somewhere in June, I can't remember when or why. So I guess this can be
closed.

Thanks for the report, that works fine here, are you using compiz ? does
it works fine if you disable it? which video card and driver are you
using? do you get the same using another stock user created on your
system? Thanks.
