Actually that was more of a "yes the problem still exists, does anyone
happen to have found a new solution in the past 7 months?"-reply...
And in the meanwhile I helped myself out, but if you want a bunch of logs I can
give you everything you want. On the other hand I think they just didn't

@Marshian - Theres no way for anyone to help you if you provide
absolutely NO information about your motherboard or audio chipset. At
least an lspci output of what codec... Your the perfect example of why
the "ones with all the answers" don't bother to help cuz they know
they're going to get 0 help
I just got my laptop back from repairs and they had to replace the motherboard.
Although I didn't have a problem with it before they repaired it, I do
encounter this bug now.
Problem is, the bugfix in the first post doesn't appear to help. Any ideas?

consider taking the time to download the latest live-image from
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/lucid and see if this issue still

(1.0.18 is on Synaptic now but 1.0.20 is the latest stable ALSA-release)
