This happens to me when printing from Acrobat Windows to ubuntu
connected printer. Setting the page size as custom: 210x297mm instead of
A4 on the printer driver preferences solves the issue.

Leston Buell, your problem is not the same as reported here. You are not
using the SpliX driver. Please open a new bug report and in addition to
the information your have supplied here also attach the PPD file of your
print queue (/etc/cups/ppd/ML-2010.ppd).

I am having this problem with Ubuntu 10.04.1. The printer worked fine
until i changed some setting on it when printing from either Adobe
Acrobat or Okular (can't remember which). I can still print in certain
programmes, like in OpenOffice and using the "print testpage" function
in system settings,
