Hi all,
Just updating possible workaround. I was in a similar situation with
regards to tt-mscorefonts-installer and unrar for Karmic Koala. I
manually deleted files related to those packages from
/var/lib/dpkg/info. viz.
$ cd /var/lib/dpkg/info
$ ls -l *ttf-mscore*
$ sudo rm *ttf-mscore*
$ ls -l
** Changed in: synaptic (Ubuntu)
Status: New => Incomplete

When you see, for example:
Setting up dbconfig-common (1.8.40) ...
dpkg (subprocess): unable to execute post-installation script: Exec format error
Then the problem is probably that /var/lib/dpkg/info/dbconfig-
common.postinst is not a runnable script (got corrupted by the crash).

Maybe synaptic messed up something? However this is definitely not a bug
in phpMyAdmin as several other packages are affected too.
