Can you try from a terminal:
$ sudo apt-get install
$ sudo apt-get install --reinstall vinagre
And see if that fixes it?

Have you recently upgraded? Could you please paste in the result of the
following:
$ ldd /usr/bin/vinagre
It appears you have the 8.04 version of vinagre installed.
