I'm using Amarok 2.0.2 with Ubuntu 9.04 on IBM Thinkpad T20 upgraded
from repo
my Amarok 2.0.2 did not work. no sound is heard and the music progress
bar did not show any progress

You have to install the codecs, found in libxine1-ffmpeg.
Also, if you use Ubuntu instead of Kubuntu, make sure to install
phonon-backend-xine and use Xine as your sound engine.
