from the hardwere drivers and got this come up wen installing them

I got this bug when trying to activate the FLGRX graphics driver.
Following the directions here

I removed all the old drivers and reinstalled the ATI drivers manually
and everything seems to be working fine now.
I'm having the same issue with the jockey-backend while trying to
activate the ATI/AMD proprietary FLGRX graphics driver. How do you
reinstall the driver?

Apparently you can not edit the report so here is what I did. I went
back and decided to try to run the Hardware Driver program again. This
time it ran and removed a driver, sorry it did it so fast that I did not
catch which one, it then installed the right driver. This did not
activate the ati/
This happened to me also. I had it working just fine the first go
around. The second time I had to redo my setup, screwing around and got
to deep to fix, and I decided to do the midiubuntu Mutimedia setup
before adding anything. After doing the multimedia setup I then tried to
do the amd/ati driver

In case anyone is having the same problem as I am, here's what worked
for me:
sudo /usr/share/b43-fwcutter/install_bcm43xx_firmware.sh
After running the above command and restarting my system my wireless was
working perfectly. Note that this solution is specific to installing the
b43 driver for b
I have the same problem in Ubuntu 9.04 when trying to install the Broadcom B43
wireless driver.
