Thanks for helping with this bug. "Fix released" indicates that the bug
has been fixed in the latest development release of Ubuntu [1]. To
target for an SRU, you can target for release (as lunch did above).

On Scott's suggestion, I downloaded karmic (alpha 2) and am currently testing.
This problem seems to have been fixed, LCD brightness works perfectly for me.

Laptop Packard Bell Easynote BG45 running Ubuntu 9.04
I can not increase the brightness. It jumps from one value to another and it
seems to have a limit around the 60%.
I can't handle it from the gnome-power-manager, nor from the brightness-applet.
