I'm sorry to reopen this bug, but I guess it hasn't been fixed

in Grub 2 you need to modify file: /etc/default/grub. you need to add
i8042.reset in line GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT
Example of my line:
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet nosplash i8042.reset"
in grub1 i8042.reset worked too.

Same problem here, also a Tx2500. Funny thing is that it *does* wake up
from hibernation but not from suspension.
