Hi,
Thank you for your investigation.
Since I have this problem, I've upgraded my ubuntu to the future 9.10.
During the upgrade process, I'll launch an "apt-get autoremove --purge" and the
duplicated and obsolete package (QT library for example) was removed.
Now amarok is working well.

the problem is due to duplicate Qt libraries. This you can see for
example by typing
ldd /usr/bin/qtconfig-qt4
In my case it was Trolltech. Anyhow I followed the instructions in #3 of
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=556058
to remove the conflict with the duplicate librar

It's pretty the same for me. After an update to Ubuntu 9.04 nearly all
KDE4-related programs are stuck with this error (which is especially
annoying in the case of amarok).
Just for comparison:
kgpg: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libQtDBus.so.4: undefined symbol:
_ZN14QObjectPrivate15checkW
I too upgraded from Ubuntu 9.10 to 9.04 and now have this same problem
with Amarok.
Also, I just installed kgpg and when I try to launch it I get
kgpg: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libkdecore.so.5: undefined symbol:
qt_locale_initialized
So I tried a another KDE based program
kget: symbol looku
