I have the same problem on Ubuntu Release 9.04 Jaunty.
I am rsyncing a usb to the host computer. I am not writing anything to
the usb drive only reading it. rsync completes, but then when I unmount
the device I get the error below. I have waited 15, 30, and 60 seconds
after rsync completes to r

the issue doesn't seem specific to gnome-mount then, I will let somebody
having a better clue about that reassign the bug though, it could be
that flushing datas on the disk takes a while though

Thanks for the reply. Just after copying ~50 MB of data into the MP3
player, I do:
$ umount /media/TSONIC/
And after waiting ~20 seconds, I get the following message:
$ umount /media/TSONIC/
/sbin/umount.hal: Unmounting /media/TSONIC failed:
org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply: Did not receive
